When we allow our circumstances to control us, we are giving in to the negative thoughts, emotions, and actions that come with our current situation. We are allowing our circumstances to dim the light of our enthusiasm.
However, God doesn’t want us to let our situations influence how we feel. Although the world around us fluctuates, our faith in God doesn’t have to.
God wants us to be positive. He wants us to be joyful. He wants us to have peace because we trust that He has the situation under His perfect control.
Enthusiasm literally means "in God", and when we reside in His presence, our circumstances shouldn't have any power over us. When we stay in God’s presence, we can be joyful.
It doesn’t matter what happens around us because of the One who is in us! God’s presence allows us to feel unexplainable joy and peace during difficult situations.
This unexplainable joy and peace not only affects the way we live, but it can influence those around us. It can be an inspiration and a beacon of hope for others who may be going through their own difficult situations.
Having enthusiasm in God’s presence also allows us to be content. We are free to enjoy life moment by moment without worrying about what is still to come. We can be joyfully and peacefully content with God when we choose to have enthusiasm.
